While there’s been heartbreak among Argentinian fans in Buenos Aires who had been hoping for their team’s third World Cup title, an estimated one billion fans around the world watched the game on television.
In other news, Palestinians have taken refuge in southern Gaza following a warning from Israel of a new wave of air-strikes in the north of the area. 160 people are now reported to have been killed in six days of raids. Hamas has continued to fire rockets at Israeli cities.
And Pope Francis has been quoted as saying that around one in fifty Catholic priests are pedophiles. Italian newspaper says he describes child abuse as Leprosy.
