Pictures emerge from Iraq in which appears to show ISIS militants rounding up and executing hundreds of Iraqi troops. A military spokesperson has said the pictures are genuine and show events in Salahuddin Province. It comes as the Iraqi government claims to have regained the initiative against the insurgency.
Pakistan’s army has launched what it calls a major offensive against the militants in North Waziristan. It comes hours after fighter jets carried out air strikes in the tribal region. Officials claim scores of insurgents have been killed. The offensive has led to an exodus of residents.
And the goals continue to fly at the World Cup in Brazil Day 4; producing victories for Switzerland, France, and Argentina. Talismanic captain Lionel Messi scored a spectacular solo effort as they beat Bosnia-Herzegovina by two goals to one at Rios’ Maracana Stadium.
