Searches continue for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane that disappeared over the South China Sea on Saturday. The Vietnamese navy said its forces sighted an object in the water that may have been part of a plane but it needs to investigate further. Dozens of ships and aircrafts from several nations are taking part in the hunt.
An investigation continues into two passengers who boarded the flight using passports that had previously been stolen in Thailand. The International Police Organization, INTERPOL, says the authorities did not check the passports against its database before allowing the passengers to board the flight.
European Union’s Foreign Policy Chief has become the first senior western official to visit Iran for six years. Catherine Ashton met President Hassan Rouhani and the country’s foreign minister for talks on Iran’s nuclear program, stressing the need to reach a permanent agreement with Tehran.
